Bike ride will benefit breast cancer

Thursday, September 30, 2010

Letsche's Bike Shop in Cherokee is proud to be one of 102 Trek Bicycle Dealers across the United States and Canada that has scheduled a bike ride to help combat breast cancer. The bike ride will be held on Saturday, October 9, starting at 1 p.m. The ride will begin from Letsche's Bike Shop in downtown Cherokee.

Ten and 25 mile routes are scheduled. Entry fee is $25, with all registration fees donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Many local businesses and organizations have contributed to the event, including Cherokee Regional Medical Center, The Copper Cup, Relaxstation, Taco Johns, Hinkhouse Hearing LTD, Blaine's Culligan, The Gasthaus, The Chronicle Times, KCHE Radio, and Cherokee County Secondary Roads Department.

Additional sponsor support is appreciated. Please contact Letsche's Bike Shop to inquire how you can participate.

Riders can register through the Trek website (www.trekbikes.com), or they may register at Letsche's Bike Shop by completing a registration form there.

The first 20 people who register will receive a free "Ride for Breast Cancer" t-shirt. Each participant will receive an event gift bag (resusable tote), water bottle, and more. Many fun door prizes will be drawn for the day of the event.

Please contact Letsche's Bike Shop for more information, to register, volunteer, or donate to the event.
