ALTA - The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union cross country teams improved their individual times in a solid showing at the Alta Cross Country Invitational here last week.
Junior Anna Wilcox placed 14th to medal and lead the MMC-RU girls in a time of 18:03, while senior Kelsey Sears was 19th and medaled in a time of 18:17.
Other varsity times for the Eagles were Briana Wilberding 19:51, Kelsey Brady 22>08, Christina Wilkens 23:41, and Jeri Welp 23:46. No place finishings were submitted.
In the boys competition, three Eagles ran in the varsity race, including Zach Kellog 27th in 20:18, Tayler Coombs 37th in 22:40, and Mitch Brady 39th in 23:01.
In the JV competition for MMC-RU, Sami Tentinger led the girls with a 19:30 clocking, and Derek Reuter paced the Eagle boys in 19:54. Also getting JV medals were Monica DeLaCruz 20:51, Alissa McDermott 22:35, and Ben Brady 21:41.
"It was a perfect night and a great course," said MMC-RU coach Ric Collins. "We ran many season bests. It's the time of the season to see this happen as we push for the conference and district meets in the next 2-3 weeks."
