Isn't this great weather? Last year the weatherman was telling us to look out for the white stuff. Hopefully, the farmers will be able to get their crops in and this weather will continue through the month of October.
The Cherokee Public Library has several activities going on during the month of October.
Every Tuesday is preschool story time (3-5 year olds) at the Cherokee Public Library from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Fall stories, crafts, songs, and rhymes are just a few of the activities that can be enjoyed. So come and enjoy the fun.
The programs for the younger children and youth groups have begun. The Toddlers Story Time will meet again Saturday, Oct. 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. This program is for children ages 1-3 and their parents. Since we meet just once a month come dressed for Halloween fun. There'll be singing, dancing, finger plays, and rhymes.
The Youth In Action group will meet Tuesday, Oct. 19 from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. for some Halloween fun. Don't forget to ride bus #3 to the library.
The Homeschoolers group will meet at the library on Thursday, Oct. 21 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Come for an hour of sharing with other families who home school. The library has magazines that can help with ideas for projects and information that enforces learning. Be sure to check out our reference section for science projects.
Just a reminder. Many students use the internet for homework. We have several computers your child may use. If they are under the age of 18 and would like to use the computers they must have signed parental permission to use the internet. The forms must be filled out and signed at the library.
Judy and I will be going to the ILA conference again this year. There is always so much to see and hear. I am looking forward to attending several youth workshops.
Be sure to pick up a newsletter and check out the website for the library.
If you have any questions about the youth programs call 225-3498 and ask for Peg.
See you at the library.
