Hinton boys shut out Ridge View

HOLSTEIN - Keegan Bak scored three touchdowns while rushing for 126 yards on 18 carries to lead Hinton to a 40-0 whitewash of Ridge View here Friday night.

The Blackhawks rushed 49 times for 358 yards and five TDs in the Class 1A District romp, while limiting the Raptors' ground game to just 26 yards on 19 carries.

Ridge View quarterback Seth Johnson completed 5-19 passes for 71 yards, and Blake Woodke completed 1-1 for 39 yards, as the Raptors managed 110 passing yards on 6-20 completions. Johnson had one catch for 39 yards, and Kris Alesch caught two passes for 24 yards, as the hosts could not muster any offense against the stifling Hinton defense.

Tyler Kenny rushed 14 times for Ridge View for 47 yards, and Johnson carried the ball five times for 21 yards.

Kole Vondrak scored two TDs for HInton and rushed nine times for 65 yards. Blackhawk QB Joe Popken completed 3-5 passes for 25 yards and one TD - that a 10-yard strike to Blake Hoefling.

Isiah Miller and Colby Stephens paced the Ridge View defense with nine tackles apiece, followed by Michael Davidson eight, Kenny seven, and Woodke, Alesch, Kyle Wessling, and Johnson six each.

Vondrak paced Hinton in tackles with nine.

Ridge View (2-4) plays at West Monona (1-5) in Onawa Friday night.
