Ridge View XC boys 1st; girls 3rd

POCAHONTAS - The Ridge View boys placed first and the girls third in their respective divisions at the Pocahontas Area/Pomeroy-Palmer Cross Country Invitational here Saturday.

Jason Kenny paced the Ridge View boys to the finish line, placing 6th in 18:04, followed by Christian Egger 7th in 18:05, Trevor Irwin 18th in 19:41, Sergio Carbajal 24th in 19:45, Riley Cosgrove 32nd in 20:05, Jordan Bremer 35th in 20:17, and Heath Clark 48th in 21:37.

The Raptors won the team title with 87 points, followed by South Central Calhoun 89, Manson NW Webster 94, Alta 96, Sioux Central 122, PAC-PP 132, Prairie Valley 135.

Jessie Mathes led the Ridge View girls with a 3rd place finish in a time of 16:34, followed by Ashley Drey 4th in 16:48, Rachel Hunt 26th in 19:02, Annie McAreavy 27th in 19:09, Michaela Else 32nd in 19:27, Kate Mathes 35th in 19:34, and Taylor Henry 46th in 20:35.

In JV girls action, Meg Kofmehl won the race in 19:10, while Nicole Brandt was 3rd in 21:16, Maddi Schubert 9th in 24:24, and Tonya Redenius 10th in 24:24.

Charlie Kliegl paced the Ridge View Middle School boys, placing 8th in 13:41, and Meaghan McCleary led the Middle School girls, placing 14th in 17:44.

Prairie Valley won the girls varsity team title with 75 points, followed by Sioux Central 84, Ridge View 92, SSC 97, Alta 102, PAC-PP 126, and Manson NW Webster 183.
