For Cherokee, Shanon Shaefer led the serving effort with 10-12 and one ace, followed by Sarah Ruehle 6-8 and two aces, Jessica Cook 5-5 and one ace, Megan Carlson and Megan Hummel each 3-4, and Denise Freed 2-3.
Jackie Wilson paced Cherokee's hitting attack with a 13-15 night and five kills, while Shaefer was 9-12, Emily Cook 8-10 and two kills, and Megan Hummel 6-10 and four kills.
Jessica Cook led her team in setting with a perfect 49-49, along with 11 assists. In the blocking category, Emily Cook registered three assists, and Jessica Cook, Wilson, and Liz Dawson tallied one assist each.
Cherokee hosts Estherville-LC tonight in another Lakes Conference tussle, with JV action beginning at 5:30 p.m., and varsity starting about 7 p.m.
