Generals defeat South O'Brien

PAULLINA - Sibley-Ocheyedan beat South O'Brien 42-12 in Class 1A District football action here Friday.

The host Wolverines had trouble getting their offense untracked against the tough Generals' defense, scoring just two touchdowns in the game.

SOS running back Tyler Draper tallied both of his team's TDs while rushing 12 times for 29 yards in the game. Quarterback Adam Paulsen rushed 10 times for 26 yards, and Matt Williams carried the ball five times for 27 yards.

Paulsen completed 4-8 passes for 37 yards, with Tanner Matthews reeling in three of those for 23 yards, and John Gray catching one pass for 14 yards.

All told the Wolverines could muster just 94 yards on the ground on 31 carries.

Matthews and Gray paced the South O'Brien defense with eight tackles apiece, followed by Bryce Kelleher with seven, Ben Wagner and Matt DeVos six each, and Kody Nelson five.

South O'Brien (1-5) plays at Alta-Aurelia (2-4) Friday night for the Warriors Homecoming game in Alta.
