GRANVILLE - Quarterback Ross Budden scored three rushing touchdowns on just four carries, and running back Riley Full carried the ball 13 times for 108 yards and two TDs to lead Granville Spalding to a 47-20 thrashing of River Valley in 8-player football action here Friday night.
In addition to that pair, Spalding's Colby Murphy rushed 11 times for 106 yards and one TD, as the Spartans tallied six rushing TDs on 45 carries and 298 total yards.
Budden also was 17-29 passing for 139 yards and one TD to Zach Kellen, who caught three passes for 39 yards in the process. Full caught six passes for 55 yards, and Murphy four for 23 yards. Budden threw two interceptions.
River Valley scored all three of its TDs on passing, with QB Brody Riedemann completing 16-33 passes for 269 yards and three TDs. His brother Brennan caught 10 of those aerials for 125 yards and two TDs, while Dylan Fluke snagged five passes for 105 yards and one TD. Riedemann was picked off twice.
The Wolverines rushed 18 times for 76 yards, with Brody Riedemann leading the way with nine hauls for 56 yards, and Blane Cullen carrying the ball seven times for 19 yards.
Cullen paced the RV defense with a shopping 16 tackles, followed by Dylan Dalton 13, Brody Riedemann 12, Fluke 11, Tanner Cobb and Luke Wilen 10 apiece, Josh Kline eight. and Carl Simonsen six.
Austin Schmit led the Spalding (2-5) defense with 14 tackles, while Jordan Plathe had 13, Zach Kellen 12, and Murphy 10.
River Valley (2-5) hosts Newell-Fonda (5-2) Friday night.
