Mustangs trample River Valley boys

CORRECTIONVILLE - Newell-Fonda blistered the River Valley Wolverines 56-13 in 8-player District football action here Friday night, scoring four rushing touchdowns and three passing touchdowns in the game.

Alan Gerdes carried the ball 11 times for 126 yards and two TDs to pace the Mustangs, while Brad Bohe rushed 12 times for 82 yards and one TD, and Jacob Hess rushed four times for 15 yards and one TD.

N-F quarterback Hess completed 8-9 passes for 158 yards and three TDs, with Nate Boevers catching five passes for 88 yards and a TD, Blake Jesse catching two for 40 yards and a TD, and Gerdes catching one for 30 yards and a TD.

River Valley scored its two TDs on quarterback Brody Riedemann's feet and arm. Riedemann rushed 24 times for 115 yards and one TD, and completed 7-73 passes to brother Brennan Riedemann for one TD. Dylan Fluke kicked a PAT for the Wolverines.

RV rushed 34 times for 142 yards and one TD in the game, and Ridemann was 12-98 passing for one TD.

Newell-Fonda rushed 34 times for 235 yards and four TDs, and Hess passed 8-158 for three more TDs.

Fluke tallied nine tackles to lead River Valley's defense, while Brody Riedemann and Blane Cullen totaled eight tackles each, followed by Billy Pansegrau seven, and Brennan Riedemann five.

Bohe paced the Mustangs' defense with 10 tackles, foillowed by Rigo Johnson eight, Brandon Nielsen seven, and Gerdes six.

The 2-6 River Valley team plays at 5-3 Remsen St. Mary's Friday night to close out regular season.
