Water shut down Thursday in Cherokee

The City of Cherokee has announced that workers will be replacing two valves at Sumner Street and Bailey Court, and a fire hydrant at Sumner and Saratoga streets on Thursday. Water will be shut of at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The water will be shut off for approximately four hours, barring any problems. Areas affected will be Sumner Street from Roosevelt Avenue to Park Avenue; Bailey Court; Saratoga Avenue from Summit Street to Sumner Street; and the north side of Summit Street.

Also, some of the houses on the north side of Park Avenue between Sumner Street and Summit Street will be affected.
