October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Washington High School Varsity football cheerleaders, with the help of some courageous senior football players, are having a fundraiser to help find a cure.
You may have noticed that all of the NFL players and coaches are wearing touches of pink this month to show their support of Breast Cancer Awareness, but here in Cherokee, the local gridders are going their NFL counterparts one better.
Five senior Braves gridders have graciously consented to pose for the photos shown here, and at this Friday's home football game against Missouri Valley, fans can vote for which of the five players they think is "Tough Enough to Wear Pink."
Voting will be done by placing money in one of five jars, each with an attached photo of one of the players. The player with the most money in his jar at the end of the night will win the title of "Tough Enough to Wear Pink."
All of the money raised will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation - Siouxland Affiliate.
The cheerleaders thank the football players for their help with this fundraiser, and they appreciate any support from the community.
