The Voter Pre-Registration deadline for the General Election is Saturday, Oct. 23.
The Cherokee County Commissioner of Elections, Kris Glienke, encourages new residents of the county to register by downloading the registration form at www.cherokeecountyiowa.com/electiongener... or by stopping at the office to complete a registration form at the Cherokee County Courthouse -- 520 W. Main St., Cherokee, IA.
The Election Commissioner's office will be open on Saturday, Oct. 23 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for pre-registration and absentee voting.
If voters have moved within the county, it is advised that a new voter registration form should be completed to update their voting address. All residents in the State of Iowa must vote in the precinct in which they reside on Election Day.
Any new voter registrations received after Oct. 23 will require a current photo ID and proof of residency. Call the Cherokee County Auditor's office for more voting information at 712-225-6704.
