Raptors make State Playoffs with 4-5 record

SLOAN - Ridge View slammed winless Westwood 48-0 in Class 1A District football action here Friday that ended the regular season for both teams.

The 4-5 Ridge View squad qualified for the State Playoffs with the win and played at #2 Emmetsburg (9-0) Wednesday night.

Raptors quarterback Seth Johnson completed 9-15 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns to lead Ridge View, and rushed three times for nine yards and two more TDs. He also threw one interception.

Tyler Kenny led the Ridge View ground attack with 10 carries for 171 yards and one TD. Ryan Garthoff rushed five times for 23 yards. Kris Alesch caught four passes for 86 yards and one TD, and Greg Davis caught two passes for 86 yards and a TD for the winners.

The Raptors rushed 22 times for 205 yards, and Johnson was 5-6 kicking PATs, and Matt Wandrey 1-1.

Jamie Huenecke led Ridge View on defense with eight tackles, followed by Kenny seven, Blake Woodke and Colby Stephens six each, and Michael Davidson and Alesch five apiece.
