On display at the Museum's Art Wall in the East Gallery are several works done by the Good Times Place Art Club.
Over the last two years they have had four, eight-week long classes with their art teacher, Barb McGee of McGee Gallery and Framing in Peterson.
The participants learned to use watercolors, oils, and acrylics. Also, they have learned about mixing colors and different brushes and how to use them.
Their subjects include anything from portraits to landscapes to animals.
This group of painters meets every Monday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Community Center. They include beginners and veterans.
The group sometimes meets with an instructor and sometimes on their own. Anyone is welcome to come. Group participants include: Sally Peters, Caryl Lee Cline, Pat Phipps, Sandy Halverson, Betty Harrison, Morgan Graverholt, Karen Nelson, Susan Bodenhamer.
For more information on the Good Time Place Art Club contact Betty Harrison, President of the Good Times Place Art Club.
Also on display at Sanford Museum in its West Gallery is the popular Cherokee Arts Council fundraiser that features several Barn Quilt Blocks that were produced by volunteers and local artisans. The public can still bid on the Barn Quilt Blocks as part of a silent auction.
The silent auction will end on Nov. 19 at 5 p.m. Winning bidders from the silent auction will be able to pick up their Barn Quilts on Nov. 29 by 5 p.m.
