If you are looking for good, "gently used" children's clothing for your kids, or you have some "gently used" clothing that your children have outgrown, the Children's Clothing Closet, located at 213 W. Elm St. in Cherokee, is the place to go.

The distribution of free children's clothing was formerly handled by the Healthy Families group, but they recently chose to discontinue that part of their services, and Georgia Crouch and her mother, Pam Waite, were quick to step in and take over this valuable service.

Georgia, who has six children, and Pam, who has 12 grandchildren, are very familiar with the need to keep kids in good clothing, based on their own experience.

Children's Clothing Closet is located at 213 W. Elm St. in Cherokee. Georgia Crouch describes its location as "the yellow and brick house across the street from the Cherokee Fire Department," and that's a pretty accurate description.

The Children's Clothing Closet is open from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Mondays and Fridays, and they have a good supply of "gently used" clothing for children of all ages available, at no cost, to anyone who needs clothing for their children.

The Children's Clothing Closet also accepts donated children's clothing any time. Just call Georgia Crouch at 221-4010, or bring the clothing in during the hours the business is open.

Though she is emphasizing fall clothing at this time, Crouch also welcomes summer and winter clothing donations at any time because she has plenty of room available for storage, and will accept clothing "from new borns through high school."
