Cherokee's "Wonderful World of Christmas Parade" is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2 through Downtown Cherokee.

Please return your Parade entry to the Chamber Office by Wednesday, November 24.

Floats must have a Christmas theme and the annual Parade's overall theme is "Wonderful World of Christmas." The use of lighting and music is encouraged for all floats.

Each participant must display a sign or banner to identify the Parade entry and there can be no Santa Claus on the float because Santa will be at the beginning of the Parade and organizers don't want to confuse the children.

Judging of the Parade entries will be during the Parade and awards will be given for the best use of lights, and overall creativity. The entries will be judged on two categories - Non-Profit or Business.

As usual, Santa will be leading this year's parade and will make a special stop at the intersection of Main and Second streets to draw the winner of the Holiday Raffle. If you have not purchased your Holiday Raffle ticket yet, you may purchase them at: Chamber of Commerce, Gasthaus, Jane's Sanford Lane Salon, Copper Cup, or Cherokee State Bank.

Tickets are $5 each and two winners will be selected to receive $1,000 ($500 in Chamber Bucks and $500 in cash)

The annual "Wonderful World of Christmas Parade" route will begin on West Main Street at the County Courthouse and proceed east down Main Street to Euclid Avenue, where it will disband.
