Library 'Book Basket' bidding ends Saturday

Monday, November 29, 2010

The Friends of the Cherokee Public Library 11th annual Book Basket Project for the 2010 Holiday Season is coming to a close for this year.

Baskets are currently on display throughout the Cherokee Public Library.

There are baskets for all price ranges, they are creative and beautiful, make great holiday gifts, and all of the proceeds go back into enhancing the library and its offerings.

Following the 2009 project, the Friends of the Library were able to purchase new DVD racks, a new set of encyclopedias, fund the summer reading program, and give the library $1000 for DVDs and books on CDs.

The 2010 project will be conducted much the same as in previous years. The baskets will be on display at the library until noon on Saturday, Dec. 4. An "open" silent bidding process will again be used to sell the baskets.

The majority of the themed baskets sell for under $50.
