Recently, members from Ridge View High School in Holstein left on their way to Indianapolis, Indiana to attend the 83rd National FFA Convention. FFA advisor Clay Drenth and chaperone Jason Ronfeldt generously took time to take 14 students on a five day trip.

The first stop they made was in Moline, Illinois, at the John Deere Pavilion, where they toured the facilities and took a look at different models of John Deere machinery. The group later stopped at Lock and Dam #15. The students stopped just in time to see a barge passing through the locks.

The first convention activity was attending the opening ceremonies and Career Show.

The career show involved talking to agriculture - based colleges, collecting free stuff, and talking to Ag business representatives and supporters. The second night the group were lucky enough to attend a Lady Antebellum Concert with Easton Corbin opening. Now those are some great country singers.

The next day the students took a tour of the Indianapolis Speedway and the NCAA Hall of Champions. It was very interesting seeing all the exhibits on college athletes who later on went into either a major line of work or played their sport professionally.

The trip was a great experience, and everyone involved is very glad that The Ridge View chapter made it possible to have such a great experience.
