'Lunch and Learn' workshop Dec. 8th

Friday, December 3, 2010

The next scheduled "Lunch and Learn" workshop - "Willow Wonders and Winter Bird Feeding Ideas" - presented by Lisa Meusberger, the program coordinator for ISU Extension for Cherokee and Buena Vista Counties, will be held Wednesday, December 8 at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Cherokee.

Learn a new skill, enjoy great food, and have a great time signing up for the "Learning with Lunch" educational series, brought to you by Western Iowa Tech Community College, Hy-Vee, and ISU Extension, Cherokee County.

During the workshop, Meusberger will show some unique ways to incorporate willow, metal arbors, and shepherd's hooks to feed our local bird population during the upcoming winter months. She will include which type of feed to use for which type of bird you would like to attract, and she will also go over what to do with the feeders you already have.

Plan to attend and have some fun learning how to help our feathered friends. Pre-registration is required, and will be taken until the day before the event, so that enough lunches can be ordered for all who want to participate. Please call (712) 225-6196, or email muesberg@iastate.edu to pre-register.

All workshops are held from noon until 12:50 p.m. at the Cherokee WITCC campus.

The monthly workshops, scheduled to coincide with the school year, will be taught by a wealth of talented area people such as business owners, WITCC staff, and ISU Extension Program Specialists. These professionals will bring you the highest quality presentation all for $5, just the cost of your lunch.

Additional workshops will be announced in the future as the time draws near.

Please call 225-6196 or email meusburg@iastate.edu to pre-register.
