HULL - The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn girls improved their season record to 5-0 with their 56-32 win here over Trinity Christian on Thursday, despite 29.4% shooting from the field and the absence of Kayla Foresman.
Reagan McDaniel took up some of the slack, as she paced the Lady Eagles' scoring with 14 points. Stephanie Specht came close to a double-double, with nine points and 10 boards, and Erica Dreckman also scored nine points for Coach Tim Dreckman's squad. Kelsey Sears added eight points and Jalyn Doeden six in MMC's well-balanced attack, and Erica Dreckman and Stephanie Specht each dished out six assists to their teammates.
Coach Dreckman said that Jalyn Doeden is "doing a lot of good things inside for us - rebounding, getting steals, assists, scoring and intimidating the opponent's shooters."
The Eagles travel to Remsen St. Mary's on Tuesday.
