Ridge View boys nip Sioux Central

SCHALLER - The Ridge View boys eked out a 51-47 victory over Sioux Central in boys basketball action here Friday night.

Isaiah Miller led the Raptors with another double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Seth Johnson tallied nine points for Ridge View, while Kris Alesch totaled eight and Blake Woodke eight.

Woodke also snagged five rebounds, and Alesch had four. Johnson and Miller led the winners in assists with three each.

Adam Ehlers paced Sioux Central's Rebels with a game-high 24 points, and Brad Ripke scored nine.

Ridge View led 12-7 after the first quarter, and clung to a 27-25 halftime bulge, before inching out to a 41-35 lead heading into the final period.

"We played as a team," said Ridge View coach Shannon Tesch. "We weren't a bunch of individuals doing our own thing. We stuck together and really got it done on the defensive end."

The Raptors take a 2-3 record into tonight's game at Cherokee. On Friday, Ridge View is in a Western Valley Conference battle against Maple Valley/Anthon-Oto in Mapleton, before the holiday break.
