James "Jim" Jones, 53, passed away on Dec. 17, 2010 in Amarillo, Texas. Memorial services will be Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Magrey de Vega officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Jim was born Jan. 24, 1957 in Cherokee, to Gerald and Jeanne Jones. He graduated form Washington High School in 1975. He worked for Hy-Vee while in Cherokee. He moved to Amarillo, Texas after graduation and worked for United Food Stores.
He was preceded in death by his father and a nephew Shane Melville.
He is survived by his mother, one brother, Jerry (Marie) Jones of Cherokee. Six sisters, Wanita (Greg) Hope; Mona (Dennis) Cargin from Amarillo, Texas; Becky (Tom) Ruth of Ft. Smith, Ariz.; Kris (Jeff) Peters of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Betty (Jim) Harman and Karla (Kevin) Wilkie of Cherokee.
