The River Valley boys played a talented Remsen Union squad close on Monday, but they could not keep them off the offensive glass and ,after trailing by just five points at halftime, they saw the game get away from them in the second half, losing by a final score of 60-42.

Zak Gander had a big night for the Wolverines with 19 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks, and senior Mark Petersen added 14 points. Brennan Riedemann led the defense with six steals and brother Brody Riedemann added five assists. on the offensive end of things.

RV coach Dean Norris said he was encouraged by the Wolverines' effort, saying they "played hard for all four quarters against a talented team and kept battling."

Norris is hopeful that his team's improvement will result in some victories when the team returns to action after the holidays.
