"The new mat looked great!" noted Cherokee coach Jason Wood. "We had a pretty good day in it. Three Braves made the finals and Rick Weaver lost in overtime in his semifinal match and battled back for third place. Jack and Zac just came up a little short in their championship matches, and Miah pinned his way through the tournament."

After the holiday break, the Braves travel to Estherville-LC Jan. 6 for a tough Lakes Conference double dual also featuring Spencer. On Saturday, Jan. 8, the Braves compete in the Kingsley-Pierson Invitational at Kingsley.
