Worthy cause for corn donation

Wednesday, December 22, 2010

The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Education Foundation was quite pleased that a couple of local farmers donated several bushels of corn sold at a local elevator with the money going to the Foundation. It serves as a tax donation but greatly adds dollars going to scholarships for all MMC seniors who apply each year. Al Hoefling, on the left, and Jack Foresman, on the right, were the first to do so. President of the Foundation Mark Wilcox, in the center, heartily thanked them for their donation. There still is time for other farmers to donate bushels of corn. Any amount will be appreciated from five to a hundred, whatever amount of bushels one feels is appropriate. With corn prices over $5 per bushel, it doesn't take a lot to make a nice donation adding dollars for scholars which is a worthy cause. Photo by Nancy Hohbach
