Chuck Wulfsen, President at Central Bank is pleased to announce that the Dr. John W. Dewar Scholarship Fund has extended its scholarship award to Jacob Lewis for the 2010-2011 school year. Jacob will receive $1,300 based on the current annual income of the trust administered by Central Bank. This brings the total scholarship paid to date to $68,110.

The scholarship, awarded to Washington High School graduates, provides money for tuition over a four-year period, providing the recipient is a full-time student at an accredited college, vocational school or other post-high school institution. A grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 must be maintained.

The parameters of the Dr. John W. Dewar Scholarship Fund, established in 1992, were determined in the will of the late Lois M. Dewar. A scholarship committee appointed by the superintendent of schools makes selections. The award is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Jacob is attending the University of Northern Iowa. He is the son of Kent and Becky Lewis.
