Ridge View Raptors top Wolverines

Thursday, January 6, 2011

HOLSTEIN - The Ridge View Raptors and River Valley Wolverines returned to hardwood action here on Tuesday, with Ridge View getting off to an early lead and maintaining it throughout the game, en route to a 53-26 Western Valley Conference victory.

The Raptors got double-double performances from both Seth Johnson and Isaiah Miller as they lifted their season mark to 4-5 (1-2 in conference play). Johnson scored 19 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and had four steals for coach Shannon Tesch's Raptors, while Miller scored 16 and had 10 boards.

Coach Tesch said he was very happy with his team's effort, noting that the Raptors played a great game on defense, "doing a nice job of forcing the Wolverines into low quality shots."

River Valley was led in scoring by Zak Gander, with seven points, and Mark Petersen, who scored six.

Ridge View hosts Kingsley-Pierson in a boy-girl doubleheader Friday night in Holstein.
