LAURENS - The Alta-Aurelia girls improved their season record to 6-3 with an impressive 66-21 Northwest Conference win over host Laurens-Marathon here on Friday.
Jordan Henningsen paced the Warrior girls with 27 points - including seven of eight from the free throw line - and also dished out four assists and had three steals for her team. Backcourt mate Haley Payne scored 11 points for the Warriors, hitting five of her six field goal attempts. The quick Payne also had five steals. Emily Grieme and Meghan Glawe each scored eight points, with Glawe hitting four of her five field goal attempts and also leading the team on the boards with seven rebounds. Rachel Husman also grabbed seven boards for the Warriors, as the bench saw plenty of action in the one-sided victory.
The Warriors committed only eight turnovers in the game which they led from start to finish.
The Warriors travel to Correctionville on Thursday for a boy-girl non-conference doubleheader against River Valley.
