This year the O'Brien County Conservation Board is planning a "Parade through the Prairie".
Each month during this year, a special event will be held on a prairie in O'Brien County. The goal of the yearlong celebration is to encourage people to explore this intriguing landscape. Each week a transformation occurs on the land -- colors change, animals migrate, plants burst into bloom.
A wide range of exciting activities is in store.
Thursday, Jan. 20 will be the first of the Prairie Parade events. Join the O'Brien County naturalist at Dog Creek Park for a snowshoe hike. Clear your head after a day at work or school.
Come out to Dog Creek Park for a stomp through the prairie and trees. Meet at the south parking lot at 5:30 p.m.
Snowshoes will be provided if you do not have your own. Please call ahead to be sure that we have enough pairs on hand.
