CORRECTONVILLE - The Alta-Aurelia boys grabbed an early lead and led all the way, as they cruised to an easy 69-23 non-conference win in basketball action here on Thursday.
A.J. Lange led the Warriors with 18 points and he was joined in double figures by Ryan Friedrich, who had 12 points, and Jaden Holton, who scored 10. Jalen Henningsen just missed double figures, as he tallied nine, as all 15 A-A players saw action and 10 of them scored.
Coach Dean Lietz' Warriors had a whopping 24 steals in the game, with Lange having five of those and Karl Kennedy and Henningsen each having four. Christian Weiland dished out five assists to his Warior teammates.
Mark Peterson led Wolverine scorers with seven points and Zak Gander and Blane Cullen each scored five.
The Warriors, now 6-3 on the season, have games against some tough competition this week, as they face Kingsley-Pierson on the road Tuesday and then meet Cherokee in Alta on Thursday. The Wolverines (1-10) host Woodbury Central on Tuesday, then travel to Lawton-Bronson on Friday.
