CORRECTIONVILLE - In Western Valley Conference basketball action here on Friday, the River Valley boys led for three quarters against a good Westwood team.

However, poor shot selection and turnovers by the Wolverines contributed to a 16-2 Westwood run in the 4th quarter and the Rebels went on to defeat RV, 40-27.

Mark Petersen led River Valley in scoring with 12 points, while Zak Gander posted a double/double with 10 points and 11 boards. Brody Riedemann dished out three assists for the Wolverines, while his brother Brennan Riedemann had three steals.

RV coach Dean Norris said, "The kids continue to play hard and show a lot of effort, but turnovers continue to plague our team. I am really pleased with how we played for three quarters, but then things really unraveled in the 4th quarter against a veteran team."

River Valley, now 1-11 for the season, travels to Lawton-Bronson on Friday to take on the Eagles in Western Valley Conference action.
