I would like to present you with an opportunity to help and community and economic betterment. If we all do this it won't take any of your money and very little of your time. All you have to do is vote.
The Cherokee County 4-H Betterment Committee is pleased to announce that the Cherokee Country 4-H Expo Center's entry in the Pepsi Refresh Project has been accepted.
They now need your help in voting for the project. Last year, the Committee raised enough funds to get the exterior of this building completed, but they are falling short to get the inside completed. If they would be awarded this $50,000 Pepsi grant they would be on track to get the inside done during Year 2011.
This facility has the opportunity to become a hub of activity for not only Cherokee County but Northwest Iowa. It certainly has the ability to serve admirably as a multipurpose facility that can be utilized by 4-H clubs for meetings and animal exhibits.
But it has the opportunity to be used as an all-weather facility to house agricultural and farm equipment shows, entertainment performances, auctions, flea markets, auto shows, clinics and workshops, archery club practice, dog obedience classes, indoor riding during inclement weather, and more. Finding a large facility that can accommodate all of these community activities has been a challenge in the past.
You can help! All you need to do is vote. Please do it now. Go to your computer and to the website www.refresheverything.com. Across the screen you'll find different categories of the grant. Click on the category "Neighborhoods" and then the dollar amount category "$50,000". A list of projects is being voted upon will appear.
Scroll down the page and continue to load more projects until you come upon "Complete the Cherokee County 4-H Expo Center". You need to set up an account using your email address in order to vote. But your vote may help complete this worthwhile community project. You may vote once a day during the month of January. Spread the word to all your friends and neighbors and those on your e-mail list asking them to vote. Together we can all make this happen.
