Sioux City North won the team title with 214.5 points, followed by Sergeant Bluff-Luton 195, Sheldon-South O'Brien 143.5, Denison-Schleswig 122, Le Mars 112, Sioux City West 108, Cherokee 77, West Lyon 69, Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln 54, and Hinton 39.
For Cherokee, Anderson lost 12-3 to champion Josh King of SB-L in the finals after pinning Brandon Kellen of Le Mars in 2:45 in his opener, and then pinning Jorrdan Monen of West Lyon in 1:30 in the semifinals.
Back pinned Andrew Overton of Denison-Schleswig in 1:48, was pinned by Brandon Ter Wee of West Lyon in :52, pinned Nathan Mordick of S-SOS in 1:44, and beat Jacob Oakley of SC West 11-4 for third place.
Cherokee's Rick Weaver placed fifth at 145 pounds after posting a 2-2 match record, and Manny Bustos was sixth at 189 pounds with a 1-3 match record.
Other Cherokee wrestlers failing to place after logging 1-2 records for the day were Tyler McLaughlin at 160, Gabe Conley at 171, and Trevor Devitt at 215.
"The Le Mars Tournament always has great competition from some bigger schools that we don't see a lot," said Cherokee coach Jason Wood. "We placed five out of eight wrestlers."
The Braves travel to Hull Western Christian tonight for a Lakes Conference double dual also featuring Storm Lake, and then compete Friday and Saturday in the multi-team Odebolt-Arthur/Battle Creek-Ida Grove Invitational in Ida Grove.
