Marjorie Krier, 69, of McCook Lake, S.D., died Jan. 12, 2011 at the Sioux City Hospital following a brief illness.
Memorial services were held Jan. 15 at Meyer Brothers Memorial Chapel in Sioux City with Rev. Phillip Dicks officiating.
Marjorie was born Dec. 26, 1941 in Diamond Township, south of Aurelia, the daughter of Ben and Ruby (Peterson) Galvin. She grew up in the Quimby area and graduated from high school in 1960, then attended beauty school in Sioux City. Marjorie married Kendall Krier on Nov. 17, 1961 in Quimby.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother James and his wife Joyce; a brother-in-law Joe Stratton; and her father-in-law, Marlin (Shorty) Krier.
Survivors include her husband and best friend, Ken Krier of McCook Lake, S.D. Two daughters, Julie Reeder and her husband Ralph Reeder of Dakota Dunes, S.D. and Jackie Pollow and her husband Gene, of Sioux City. Eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Virginia Husman and her husband Calvin of Quimby, and Mary Stratton of Ames, Her mother-in-law Cecile Krier of Sergeant Bluff. Also many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
