The Cherokee Educational Foundation's annual Benefit Dinner and Auction is scheduled for Friday, Feb 25, on the Upper Level of the Cherokee Community Center.
The enjoyable "evening out" will begin at 6 p.m, with a social hour and bidding on several silent auction items. A delicious dinner of prime rib, chicken and fish, catered by Holly Ohlson, follows, and the evening will conclude with a "live" auction.
The purpose of the benefit is to raise funds to be used to enhance
educational opportunities for students and staff at all levels of education
in the Cherokee schools.
As the result of previous years' dinners and auctions, the Foundation has been able to assist the school district in purchasing items such as lab equipment, music software, summer school programs for special needs, field trips, guided reading books, the World Awareness Day activities, a projection system for Language Arts, drawing tables, a science smartboard, graphing calculators, and laptop computers.
Tickets are $30 per person, and may either be purchased at the Central Administration Office of Washington High School (Joyce Lundsgaard, 225-6767) or by calling Sue Parker (225-5004) or John Cook (225- 5175).
