Warrior gals win easily over L-M

LAURENS - The Alta-Aurelia Warriors got off to a 19-2 first quarter lead over host Laurens-Marathon and led 26-4 at the half in a lackluster Northwest Conference girls' basketball game here on Friday. The final score of the game was Alta-Aurelia 48, L-M 10.

Alta-Aurelia's Jordan Henningsen scored 22 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out four assists and had five steals, while Meagan Phipps scored nine points, Emily Grieme took down nine rebounds, and Audrey Winterhof had three assists and four steals for the Warriors, now 10-7 on the season. Alta-Aurelia wrapped up their regular season at home against Woodbury Central on Tuesday, and they start down the tournament trail on Saturday, hosting Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn at Alta in first round Class 1A tournament action.
