The Ridge View boys split a pair of weekend contests, losing to a strong Westwood team on the road Friday night, then bouncing back to beat Woodbine in Holstein on Saturday.
The Raptors got off to a slow start in the Friday night contest, then had a nice 3rd quarter to get back into the game. Westwood hit a couple of big buckets in the 4th, though, and also hit on their free throw attempts to pull out a 58-44 Western Valley Conference win.
The Raptors' Isaiah Miller, achieving an impressive double-double each time out, scored 25 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and had three steals, while teammate Seth Johnson scored eight, took down eight boards and also had three steals. Greg Sibenaller scored 24 for Westwood and Ben Winters added 12.
In Saturday night's 66-34 win over Woodbine, Isaiah Miller put up another double-double game for the Raptors, scoring 30 points and grabbing 18 rebounds. He also dished out three assists. Teammate Seth Johnson had another strong game as well, as he scored 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had four steals. Travis Hoeppner scored eight and took down four rebounds, and Kris Alesch grabbed 10 boards and scored seven points for the Raptors, who are now 7-11 on the season.
Raptors Coach Shannon Tesch said his team played well ddefensively and it was fun to watch their intense play. Ethan Lenz scored 13 for Woodbine.
Ridge View will open District Tournament play next Monday at Sloan against the tough Westwood club they played on Friday.
