Raptors boys down N-F Mustangs

Thursday, February 10, 2011

SCHALLER - In a very physical game, the Ridge View Raptors and Newell-Fonda Mustangs battled led back and forth for three quarters before the Raptors pulled away for a 50-32 non-conference victory in boys' basketball action here on Monday.

Isaiah Miller recorded another double-double for the Raptors, scoring 24 points and grabbing 16 rebounds, and needs only six points to reach 1000 points for his career. The senior also blocked three shots. Seth Johnson scored seven points and took down seven boards for the Raptors, while Kris Alesch scored six points and grabbed nine rebounds. Brad Bohe led Newell-Fonda with 10 points.

Ridge View coach Shannon Tesch said "points were hard to come by" during the game, adding that it was "a good win" for the Raptors, whose season mark now stands at 8-11.

Ridge View will open District tournament play on Monday when they take on Westwood at Sloan. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
