Henningsen hits 19 from the charity stripe

ALTA - Alta-Aurelia's Jordan Henningsen hit 19 free throws as she totaled 29 points to lead her team to a 62-58 non-conference win over Woodbury Central here on Tuesday.

Emily Grieme continued her hot shooting, too, chipping in with 14 points for the Warriors, whose win gave them a final 12-7 regular season mark in this, the initial season of sharing between the Alta and Aurelia districts. Courthey Van Haaften had a big night on the boards for the Warriors, too, grabbing 11 rebounds for coach Jeannie Henningsen's Warrior team. Grieme, Jordan Henningsen, Haley Payne and Meagan Phipps garnered a combined 19 rebounds among them to help out as well.

The Warriors open tournament play in Alta on Saturday against Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, in a game that will involve students from four of the eight schools which comprised the old Sioux Valley Conference.
