SLOAN - In Class 2A District 1 basketball tournament action here on Monday, the Ridge View boys jumped out to an eight-point lead over Westwood after the first quarter, and increased the margin to 10 points at the half. However, the host Rebels outscored the Raptors 17-7 in the third frame to knot the score, then won going away, 45-38.
Raptors coach Shannon Tesch said his team played hard and executed their game plan very well, but added, "It's tough to play so well and come up short. It's a difficult way to end the season, but we should be proud of the way we played."
The Raptors' Isaiah Miller ended his career with another strong double-double game, as he scored 20 points and also grabbed a whopping 20 rebounds. Teammate Seth Johnson added nine points and took down four rebounds. Westwood was led by Trevor Smits and Greg Sibenaller, each of whom scored 12 points.
The Ridge View Raptors finish the season with a record of 8-13, while Westwood continues down tourney trail.
