Ridge View Dance Squad members to perform at Girls State Tourney

The All-Iowa Honor Dance Team is making its 29th appearance at the Girls State Basketball Tournament March 4th and 5th, 2011 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

One hundred teams are represented in this year's All-Iowa Honor Dance Team. Over 500 dancers auditioned at Ames High School in September for the 276 positions. All schools are members of the Iowa State Dance/Drill Team Association.

Fifty dancers will perform the pre-game, featuring a patriotic salute with the fifty state flags, on both Friday and Saturday nights. The halftime group is composed of 224 dancers, who will perform at the halftime of the 3A Championship game on Saturday night, March 5th. The championship game tips off at 6 p.m. The halftime group will be performing routines involving pom and kick with a "Rock 'n Roll" theme. The halftime performance will be televised on your local television network. Choreographers are Jackie Aguiniga, Betty Baker, Andrea Dana, Jackie Morse, and Lois Turnage. Coordinator of the All-Iowa Honor Dance Team is Kathy Enyart.

Ridge View dance squad members Kelsey Davidson, Meg Kofmehl, and Erin Wissink were selected for the pre-game performance and Ridge View dance squad member Annie McAreavy was selected for the halftime performance.
