The second All-School Reunion including high school attendees from Cherokee Public Schools, Immaculate Conception, and past/present teachers/administration is being planned along with the "Little Sioux Summer Fest" to be held July 1 through July 4.
As with the first All-School Reunion was held in 2006, A postcard mailing for early planning was sent out in November for those living outside of Cherokee County and via e-mail for those addresses provided.
Unfortunately, the organizers didn't receive updated addresses from many classes which resulted in about 600 being returned as "no forwarding address" or "undeliverable" and organizers have no list for classes 2005 through 2010.
It is a general understanding by organizers that some classes are now on Facebook so if you haven't heard anything, you might check to see if yours is one of them. Actual invitations will be mailed out by May 1 to be returned no later than June 1, so if you know people that haven't received the initial postcard or anyone you are in contact with (outside Cherokee County) that has mentioned getting no information, please furnish them with the following information: to get back on the mailing list have them either e-mail the request to: email@example.com or phone Sharon Fliear at 712-225-0136. All updated information can be found on the following sites: cherokeeiowachamber.com, Washington High School: ccsd.k12.ia.us (Reunion Link) and on Facebook: Cherokee 2011 All-Class Reunion.
Organizers are asking all interested in participating in the All-School Chorus or Band should please contact Holly Ohlson at firstname.lastname@example.org or Joe Vannatta at email@example.com. This event was a huge success five years ago and organizers hope for an even bigger turnout this time.
They reunion committee hope to hear from many past students and past/present teachers or administration wishing to take part. Please include the type of instrument you play or voice range. This event will take place on Saturday, July 2 as part of the All-School catered picnic scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Middle School and a practice for both the band and chorus is tentatively scheduled for the morning of that event.
This is a great opportunity for families to take advantage of "getting the kinds all home at the same time," family reunions, or setting up appointments for that family photo. If an Open House or a special get-together is being planned by individual classes, organizers will be happy to post the date, time and place on their "links" mentioned earlier and will also include them in a special sheet that will be available at several location in the City of Cherokee and at the All-School Registration on Friday morning, July 1 at Washington High School from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Please call Sharon Fliear with your information as soon as you have it available.
The committees are working very hard to bring you an exciting, fun-filled celebration and hope you will make plans to be here.
