Five members of the "Junk Yard Dogs" youth wrestling team competed in State competition recently.

Cade Siebrecht placed 3rd among 18 competitors in the 1st grade, 46 lb division at the Super Pee Wee State Meet in Waterloo on March 5, posting a record of 5-1.

Four other Junk Yard Dogs competed at the State AAU Meet in Des Moines on March 26 and 27. Each bracket in that meet had the top four placers from the eight district qualifiers held across the state, for a total of 32 wrestlers in each bracket. Over 6500 wrestlers competed at the districts, and 1100 qualified for the state meet in 36 weight/age classes in divisions A & B. Only 288 of those wrestlers place at the state meet, and this year that number included all four representatives from the Junk Yard Dogs.

Skylar Solko placed 4th in the B100 division with a 4-2 record; Cobe Siebrecht placed 7th in the A65 division with 5-2 record; Kole Wiegert placed 7th in the A90 division with a 4-2 record; and Cooper Siebrecht placed 8th in the B70 division with a 3-3 record.
