Springers Emerald team ends season

Storm Lake Springers Gymnastics "Emeralds" team recently finished up the season in Northfield, Minnesota.

The team took second place out of eight teams in Division 6 of MAGA (Midwest Amateur Gymnastics Association), scoring 113.325 points.

Emeralds Coach Marcia Ready said "We had some rocks in the way, but the girls pulled together as a team and cheered everyone back up. I'm very proud of these gymnasts. They have all learned new skills this season and all their hard work, sweat, and tears have paid off. I look forward to next season to see what they bring to the floor."

Megan Brown qualified for individuals on the vault and bar in Owatonna, Minnesota,

Novice 9 and under:

Megan Brown on vault scored 7.7 for second place, and scored 6.45 on the bars to take first place, She also earned a fifth place on the beam with a 6.55, sixth place in floor exercise with a 6.95, and in all-around, she finished third, with a score of 27.65.

Children 10 and 11:

Jocelyn Johnson scored 7.05 on the vault for 19th place, scored 4.7 on the bars for 14th place, scored 6.45 on the beam for 11th place, scored 6.65 in the floor exercise for 21st place, and placed 16th in the all-around with a score of 24.85 .

Rowan Kolpin scored 7.3 on vault for 13th place, scored 6.6 on the bars for first place,scored 5.8 on the beam for 19th place, 7.35 in floor exercise for eighth place, and in the all-around finished seventh, with a score of 27.05.

Alicia Turnquist scored 7.3 for 12th place in the vault, scored 4.6 for 15th place on the bars, scored 6.75 for sixth place on the beam, scored 6.9 for 12th place in floor exercise, and placed 12th in the all-around with a score of 25.55.

Junior 12 and 13:

Claire Blomberg scored 7.2 on the vault for 16th place, 4.25 on the bars for 18th,scored 4.85 on the beam for 19th place, scored 6.9 for 11th place in the floor exercise, and scored 23.2 points to finish 17t in the all-around.

Tiernan Kolpin scored 7.75 on vault for fourth place, on the bars she scored 6.0 for seventh place, on the beam she took second place with a score of 7.45, place. She also won first place in floor exercise with her score of 8.05, and captured another first in the all-around, totaling 29.25 points.

Ashley Schimmer finished fifth in the vault, scoring 7.65 points. On the bars, she placed third with her score of 6.5. On the beam, she scored 6.75 points, good for seventh place. She placed fifth in the floor exercise with 7.525 points, and in the all-around she placed fourth, with a score of 28.425.
