River Valley girls in MVAO invite

MAPLETON - The River Valley girls track and field team recorded two first-place finishes at last week's Maple Valley/Anthon-Oto Invitational, with Brittny Shropshire winning the 100 meter hurdles in 17.0, and the Wolverine 4x800 relay team of Olivia Goettsch, Kari Ludvigson, Jordain Volkert, and Brittany Hunwardsen clocking an 11:23.

River Valley's shuttle hurdle relay was second in 1:19, with Alysa Georgeopoulos, Shropshire, Lexie Chester, and Mackenzie King aboard.

RV thirds went to the 4x200 relay unit of Volkert, Ludvigson, Chester, and Mackenzie Fitch timed in 2:05; and the sprint medley team of Fitch, Brandi Morrow, Ludvigson, and Goettsch timed in 2:12.

Shropshire was fourth in the 100 meters in 14.52; and the 4x400 relay of Ludvigson, Chester, Hunwardsen, and Goettsch was fourth in 4:54.

IKM Manning won the team title with 187 points, followed by Denison-Schleswig 115, Boyer Valley 97, MVAO 88, River Valley 56, and Charter Oak-Ute 41.
