The Cherokee Mental Health Institute has successfully completed two important accreditation surveys.
The surveys were performed in two unannounced visits by the Joint Commission, the first in late December and the other on Jan. 21 of this year. Successful completion is recognized nationally as the highest standard of health care.
Accreditation is a way of evaluating quality and safety in an organization. It is an audit of the actual delivery of critical services and patient care, and provides insight into the hospital's daily operations and systems.
Cherokee Mental Health has undergone an unannounced, thorough on-site review of the quality and safety of care being provided, and is committed to continuously meeting rigorous national standards. The conclusion of the on-site survey is a validation of the work to continuously comply with The Joint Commission's nationally developed standards.
