SIOUX CITY - The Ridge View boys and girls track and field teams had a good day at Saturday's Sioux City Relays, the Raptor girls winning three relays and finishing second in another in cold, windy, damp conditions.
Emily Schiernebck, Sydney Kistenmacher, Brooke Wiese, and Roxanne Grundmeier won the 4x200 in a time of 1:52; Nicole Snyder, Jessica Mathes, Kistenmacher, and Grundmeier won the 4x400 in 4:20; and Kistenmacher, Grundmeier, Mathes, and Snyder won the distance medley in a time of 4:33.
The Raptors 4x100 relay was second in 53.93. Runners names were not submitted. Kysa Bennett was third in the open discus with a throw of 108-6.
Also in Class C, the Ridge View boys won the 4x400 and medley relays, and placed second in the 4x100 and 4x200 relays.
Tyler Kenny, Trevor Irwin, Joe Tokheim, and Colby Stephens won the 4x400 in 3:38; and Austin Graff, Blake Woodke, Irwin and Tokheim won the medley in a time of 3:55. The 4x100 was second in 45.79, and the 4x200 second in 1:32. Runners names were not submitted for those relays.
Also in Class C, the Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn girls were fifth in the distance medley in 4:50, fifth in the 4x200 in 1:57, and sixth in the 4x100 in 55.88. Runners names were not submitted. MMC's Erica Dreckman was third in the 100 meters in 13.8.
The MMC boys were fourth in the 4x100 in 46.92, fifth in the 4x200 in 1:37, second in the 4x400 in 3:43, and fifth in the medley in 4:10. Runners names were not submitted.
In Class B for Cherokee, Taylor Woods was third in the girls open shot put with a 37-1 effort, and Brock Dagel was sixth in the boys open shot put event with a 47-6 heave. Sam Hinkhouse was sixth in the 100 meters in a time of 12.66, and Danni Roethler was seventh in the girls 100 meters in 15.43.
In the open 400 hurdles, South O'Brien's Casie Rehder was sixtgh in 1:16.
