It's hard to believe that school will be over in less than a month. The month of May is filled with special end of the year projects. It is also a time to remember our mothers and those who will graduate.
The Cherokee Public Library will continue to have pre-school Story Time on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. -- 11 a.m. The last story time will be Tuesday, May 24.
As I mentioned in my last article, I am gearing up for this year's summer reading program, "ONE WORLD MANY STORIES". Please note that our summer reading program will begin earlier this year. The dates for the program will be June 17 through July 15. So mark your calendars and come join the fun as we discover the world through stories, crafts, games, and many exciting activities.
Kicking off the Summer Reading Program on Friday, June 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sanford Museum will be a guest speaker from Carroll, Iowa. She will be bringing live birds of prey to show us, talk about how she rehabilitates injured birds, and then releases them back into their natural habitats. All ages are welcome.
Lisa Laird and her friends at "Pockets Full of Fun" will be back again on Thursday, June 23 for a fun-filled program with ventriloquism, magic tricks, stories and music from around the world. There will be prizes for everyone. Mark your calendars and join us at the Sanford Museum at 10:30 a.m. All ages are welcome.
Mr. Twister, otherwise known as Bob Anderson, from Sioux Falls South Dakota will be twisting balloons into amazing creations and do a little juggling to end our summer reading program. You won't want to miss this creative and entertaining program which will be on Thursday, July 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the lower level of the Community Center.
All ages are welcome.
The rest of the programs will be at the library on Tuesday, June 28 and Tuesday, July 5 from 10:30 -- 11:30 a.m. Please note there will be one program a week this summer. There will be more information about the library programs in the May Newsletter and I will give flyers to the teachers at Roosevelt and the Middle School to be sent home with your child.
Come join us for a traveling adventure that is out of this world!
