AURELIA - The Alta-Aurelia girls golf team won a Northwest Conference meet on the Aurelia course here on Tuesday, beating runner-up Storm Lake St. Mary's by 30 team strokes, 190-220. Newell-Fonda was third, with 221 strokes, while Laurens-Marathon placed fourth with a team total of 242 and Sioux Central was fifth with a 249.
Alta-Aurelia's Courtney Van Haaften was meet medalist with a score of 46, and teammate Kelsi Snyder was runnerup, also carding a 46. Other Alta-Aurelia scores were Jordan Henningsen, 48 and Jennifer Jensen, 50. April Goslinga (50) and Maddi Meier (59) also played for Alta-Aurelia. St.
Mary's Heather Sitzman had a round of 47.
After two conference meets, Alta-Aurelia leads the team race with 10 points, while Newell-Fonda has 7 points, St. Mary's 6.5, Laurens-Marathon 4.5 and Sioux Central 2.
