It's a sweep - Cherokee Washington High Band Director Paul McEntaffer, right, announced his top awards at last week's WHS Band & Vocal Department's Spring Concert, with seniors Alex Struck and Liz Ross sweeping the coveted Band Awards, including the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award for outstanding achievement in the field of Jazz as demonstrated through superior musicianship, character, and individual creativity; and the Iowa Bandmasters Association Award of Merit for outstanding musical ability, leadership, loyalty, and service. Cherokee Washington High School held their annual Band & Vocal Department Spring Concert and Awards Night last week, and those attending were treated to a great nigh of music as well as witnessing deserving students reaping some individual awards for their hard work.
